Proposal: raise minimum wage in WV

Raising minimum wage in West Virginia is important for families to be able to live better and provide more for their children and families.  Most of work minimum wages jobs with no benefits. This make everyday a struggle for a lot of families.

The Issue

Problem Defined

The problem i'm trying to solve is raising minimum wage in Keyser, WV.  I live and work in Keyser.  I feel like most jobs available in my area are minimum wage jobs.  The minimum wage is lower that some of the areas around Keyser.  This means a person has to commute in some way to earn more per hour.  That takes more time away from family, more wear on yourself, and expensive from travel. I believe if minimum wage could increase then we could have less financal worry and possible not have to travel for work outside of our town.

I live in a small town called Keyser, WV.  I have lived there my whole life and also work here. I decided to stay in Keyser to raise my family. I have 3 kids and a spouse. I attend Allegany college of Maryland in the education field.  I would like to become a first grade or second grade teacher.  I enjoy volunteering at my children schools.  I volunteer at a primary and middle school. which i enjoy very much.  I chose this issue because it effects my ability to live and raise my family without struggling everyday and living pay day to pay day.

This topic is important to me because, I have a family who needs my time and relays on me to take care of them. So raising minimum wage would help me to support them better without having to lose valuable time with them to drive to another state to make more money.
